Details
A robust plant with a terminal cylindrical cluster of many large yellow flowers. Flower during the monsoon, and generally grow athigh altitudes. An important and difficult genus(over 70 species) of semi-parasitic plants, often sighted in the high summer flora of the alpine zone, near grazing grounds and in clearing in the upper forests. They are not grazed by animals because of the sap in the stems. Medicinally used to stimulate vomiting in case of food poisoning.
